Circles of love
from the ones that round
the corners of my mouth
when I smile
to the ones that shape
the tears in my eyes.
The ones that shape the letters
in 'goodbye.'
They won't tell me not to cry
when you leave.
They won't have to
because through the round tears
they'll see the shining hope
you find each day,
bright as the round sun
which rises and sets
but is not so sure
as our circle of love.
