All My Life

(about 1997)

Nothing is the same without you.
The world stands still without you.
Storms subside when you are here.
Waves roll their merry tunes when you are near.

Without you, I have no hand to hold;
the path seems steep, the story empty and cold.
And songs I sing forget to bring
the touch of joy I've found alive in you.

I wish you knew
I now know who you are.
In your welcome eyes I see a promise,
a dream like a star

shining far above,
leading us with love,
guiding a way for you,
a way for me,

a way for us together, yes
I do know who you are.
Now we've come this far.
I care for you.

I look for you.
I feel for you.
I understand you
exactly how you are.

I don't ask for change,
yet it will come;
and patiently I'll be here
exactly how I am.

Nothing is the same without you.
