It is amazing

The ability

her whole being has

to expand

for a child

The womb

and surrounding skin

with flesh

with blood,

soul, spirit.

Pregnant

Then the canal

pressure of new life

increasing, widening

bones soften, joints loosen

muscle contracting

then relaxing

Birth

And the heart

responsibility, and inheritance

requiring eternal sacrifice,

encircling love

together with all its pain

and knowing; learning joy
