(about 1992)
Everyone wants
imaginary friends
to talk to
play with
cry to
talk about
because it's fun
and pretending
almost makes you
really believe
that you have one friend
small, green and kind
Crystal the leprechaun
to help with problems
of life
and keep you company
but it's funny
that when you grow up
you learn that believing
has given you a friend,
but maybe someone needs her
more than you do.
You say goodbye
on a day
where the tears are warm
on your cold cheeks.
But it's for the best.
She helped you
help others
forever.
