How can one come to
even explain,
for words are not anywhere
to describe such things . . .
But, you may recall
a starry sky
Christmas time
ocean waves
thunder storms
music
understanding
But not recall the stars
only the endlessness and the questions.
Not the time of the Holidays
only the things soaking into your soul,
the sounds, tastes, smells.
Not the recurring pattern
of waves
only the sound, and beauty
and wonders of the waters.
Not the rain
only the light, flashing
the brightest and quickest
then the sensation
when thunder roars.
Not the tune
only the prayer of each individual note.
And
Not really understanding
only trying to understand.
