Blind

He should have a six-pack

and eyes for only me

Would they were even open

but unfortunately he

closes them to me

A choice he made

blinded him

this too, he cannot see

But looks

only to see air-brushed shadows

I am a raving beauty

with super-powers

only he has known

now rendered useless

like so much kryptonite

paralyzed

We

a shell of what once was

an old cocoon

hanging, blowing lifeless

abandoned in the wind

the butterfly

long since off

flying beautiful

I one wing

spinning in circles

spiraling

with many eyes perceive

I'm worth the greatest treasure

holding secrets to free him

joy incomprehensible

light burning warm and clear

endless horizons

a great feast, would he eat

the key to his palace

yet

he lives in a shack

starved, always craving

walled-in

stumbling in darkness

sorrowing, despairing

despising, criticizing

mocking

I am not invisible

but as a ghost to him

haunting

reminding him

of promises he made

and isn't keeping

He's afraid

and won't let go

carries his dark secret

like belly-fat

unnecessary

I'm right here

See me
